In our step-by-step program, you are involved and taught the tools to communicate effectively with your horse. We progress your horse at his pace, only advancing to the next exercise once a skill has been achieved.
We understand that horses, like people, do have their “off days”. However, we teach you how to use that “off day” as an “opportunity for correction”, thus working to insure more “on days” than “off”.
Our methodology ensures your success; unlike traditional training styles where your horse is sent “off” for 30-60-90 days and returned to you, we work with you AND your horse, giving you the knowledge to not only maintain training, but, continue it.
With our approach, we can tailor a training program based upon you and your horses needs.
Skills that can be taught you and your horse include:
- Getting to know and understand your horse
- Problem solving and eliminating unwanted behaviors
- Effective ground work
- How to catch your horse
- Disengaging the hind quarters
- Backing up
- Direct and drive
- Trailer loading
- Vertical and Lateral flexion
- Stopping at all gates
- Leg yielding in all three positions
- The turn around
- Collection in all gates
- Side passing
- Lead departures and lead changes
In addition to our training program, we offer our Boarders a Saturday “Adult Rider and Horse Training Class” to work through any communication or training problems that they are having with their horse. We end this class with a cool-down period trail riding on our property.
